Zephyr Gallery is very excited to announce that we are hosting a Student Show at the gallery from May 14th to June 22nd, 2013 with a reception on May 17th. For 17 years, The Orillia Museum of Art and History has held a Student Art Show in the spring for local students. Due to construction, OMAH is unable to host the show in 2013. Zephyr Art Gallery will be presenting the Student Show for 2013 so that local students will not miss the opportunity to participate in a Student Show. We would like to present an opportunity for students that are interested in participating in an Art Show experience. There will be a mentorship aspect in this show – we will be providing guidance on the show experience from framing and hanging to marketing. The students will be expected to fully engage in the experience.

HERITAGE DAY AT COLDWATER CANADIANA
Heritage Day is a day set aside each year to allow visitors from all over the opportunity to experience a step back in time. Following an out door interdenominational church service at 11:00 a.m., visitors can explore a the original homestead built in 1830. The homestead boasts many original artifacts as well as many other items donated by local families, some of which are direct discendants of the original owners. Outbuildings on the property include a schoolroom, barber shop, blacksmith shop and slaughter house, and many others. All of the buildings house early farm equipment and machinery, many of which will be demonstrated during Heritage Day. Food is available throughout the day beginning immediately following the church service and good old time music will be provided by "North of 50" . Many of the volunteers will be in period costume adding to the atmosphere of the day.
