CycloCross Season at Hardwood
Hardwood Ski and Bike is pleased to announce the official kick off of the 2016 CycloCross season
with clinics starting September 4th. Cyclocross is changing the landscape for off-season riding.
We are very excited about all of the Cyclocross related events happening at Hardwood Ski and
Bike for the 2016 season.
On Sunday September 4th we kick off Cyclocross season with a full day race clinic that runs from
9:30am-4pm. This full day event will give you an edge in this growing sport. This clinic is taught
by former Ontario Coach and top M1 racer, Rob Holmgreen. You will learn riding positions, faster
cornering, braking, barriers, starts and more.
On September 7th we are hosting an Intro to Cyclocross clinic to introduce you to a rapidly growing
sport. What a great way to extend your riding season. This course is taught by professional coach
Andrew Watson. This course will introduce you to the many aspects of Cyclocross including, riding
positions, mounting, dismounting, barriers and more.
We then kick off our weekly Velocity Cycle and Ski Wednesday Cyclocross series which runs from
Wednesday, September 14th until Wednesday October 26th. New this year we have added a novice
division to attract new riders to the sport.
Last but most defiantly not least The Dornella’s O-Cup Cycle Cross Race is happening on Sunday,
October 9th. This race is part of the Northern Cylcocross Series that is new this year. We have
partnered with Barrie Cycling Clubs Baseball Cross Race and The Silver Goose race to bring you a
series with great prizes if you compete in all three events.
