rama pow wow poster e1499953896352 - CHIPPEWAS OF RAMA FIRST NATION POWWOW

Everyone welcome, experience competition dancing & singing; enjoy the food & craft vendors. This is a great event for the whole family! The Rama Pow Wow is one of the largest Pow Wows in Ontario!

Throughout our history, the Chippewas of Rama First Nation have  been known as a caring, sharing people.  Our Chippewa territory has been called ‘the gathering place’ where travelers rested before continuing on their journey, where great meetings were held and important agreements signed.  From the earliest of times, our people have been entrepreneurs, artisans, craftsmen, hunters and fishermen.  We later operated as guides throughout the area for tourists, and marketed crafts, produce and services.

We invite you to learn more about our community, whose pride in Ojibwe traditions and restoring traditional ecological knowledge are at the forefront of community visioning.  This stands alongside progressive programs, economic development initiatives and member services.

Come down to the Rama Pow wow on August 19th-20th and learn more about the community, history, dance, singing and so much more! This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Chippewas of Rama First Nation right here in Ontario’s Lake Country. Don’t miss this amazing weekend of learning, dance, singing, crafts and so much more to enjoy!

Local sponsor will be returning to the Pow Wow this year such as Mariposa Market, Sunshine 89 Radio station and Friend’s Diner. These local business help make this an unforgettable and amazing weekend full of great activities to watch and learn about!

The Rama Powwow will not be providing camping to our singers, dancers, and vendors this year. If you are looking to camp, you can book through Black River Wilderness Park,
