STORYTELLING ORILLIA: SIDE BY EACH – CURLING

January 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

OMAH Logo 450x450 - STORYTELLING ORILLIA: SIDE BY EACH - CURLING

We will have 2 guest speakers joining us, Liz Summerfield and Paul Savage.

Liz Summerfield is a long time member of the Orillia Curling Club as was her family. With Liz’s maiden name being Hurl her family had to be Curlers. Liz is going to tell us stories that relate to her and her family’s years spent playing and enjoying the Roaring Game.

Paul Savage was born here in Orillia and still has close family ties in town. Paul moved away at a very early age but just loves to come back and visits often as he has had a cottage on Kashe Lake for 40+ years. Paul won the 2nd of his 7 Provincial Men’s Curling Championships here in Orillia in 1973. His days in the hack will be more than entertaining and well worth the listen.

The Ontario Championship banners, pictures and trophies that are on display at the Orillia Curling Club have the names of so many great Orillia families. Today’s members can be proud to call Orillia Curling Club theirs. Come and enjoy and bring along your own short tale to tell after listening to Liz and Paul.

Storytelling Orillia invites you to our next story circle, called SIDE BY EACH.

Storytelling Orillia has formed a partnership with OMAH to support its efforts to gather personal stories from the Orillia area.
