On Saturday August 13th, this event will be held at the Pan-Am world-class facility, Hardwood Ski and Bike in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, celebrating International Youth Day (celebrated globally on Friday, August 12th). A celebration like no other, you won’t want to miss being a part of this community collaboration. Bringing local talent together with youth-focused charities, supporters, and champions of youth in the spirit of inclusion, positivity, diversity, and leadership, this day will be fun for the whole family. With guided bike rides, hikes, beach volleyball, a glow-in-the-dark paint party, arts and crafts, dance sessions, informational workshops, presentations, and musical performances, your family will be engaged, inspired, and entertained all day long. Proceeds from the day will go to local youth charity Anti-Violence Youth (AV Youth), to help the youth of today live a better life, tomorrow. This event couldn’t come at a better time, with tragedies of violence unfolding across the world – our world needs youth supporters, educators, and change-makers to work alongside youth leaders. Our world needs to see change, and this event is here to bring positive vibes, empowerment, and celebration for youth and all youth supporters. Music performances include local talent, B4, as well as other artists to be announced, as well as a songwriting workshop offered during the day. A workshop and book signing will be offered by international author Cheryl Bradshaw for her book “How to Like Yourself.” Five adult youth champion awards and five youth leadership awards will be presented – we are now taking nominations, as well as volunteer applications, so please send in your recommendation, contact information, as well as a short paragraph explaining your reasons for your nomination. Nominees should represent anti-violence youth initiatives, positivity, inclusivity, empowerment, and/or positive examples for our community on a local or global scale.
Come be a part of your community, celebrate and honour outstanding youth, support your local youth charities, and have a fun day of celebration you won’t ever forget!
