Instagrammable Locations in Orillia & Lake Country this Summer!

Orillia & Lake Country offers fantastic locations to get some of the most amazing photographs for your Instagram feed. The region is home to many waterways, rolling landscapes and waterfront parks that offer stunning sunsets. Get your camera, phones, and hashtags ready for these locations in Lake Country! (#OrilliaLakeCountry of course)

Bass Lake

One of the many reasons why this location made our top Instagram locations is the great scenery. At Bass Lake you can capture some of the region’s most beautiful sunsets and sunrises reflecting on the clear calm water. Furthermore Bass Lake has a beautiful hiking trail which traverses through different habitats and a sandy beach great for swimming.

Couchiching Beach Park

This beautiful park made our list for several reasons. Couchiching Beach Park is a great location to capture some scenic photos. The winding path through the park is sheltered by healthy tall trees and passes by the iconic pavilion.  The Park offers a friendly atmosphere where you can capture some amazing photos of scenic Lake Couchiching and visitors enjoying a day in the Park.

Big Chute Marine Railway

You might be asking what is so fascinating or what is a marine railway? Well, this location has quite the history behind it and offers amazing Instagram opportunities. The Big Chute is the only marine railway of its kind in North America and operates as an open carriage that runs on a railway going into the water allowing boats to be transported from one body of water to the next. It’s quite the amazing sight and photo opportunity. In addition, the surrounding rugged scenery of the Trent-Severn waterway is a sight to see.

Sparrow Lake

Bayview Wildwood Resort is situated on the shores of Sparrow Lake and offers picture-perfect images. If you are looking to get that memorable Instagram photo by the water this is the perfect location. The resort offers many activities on the water and tons of outdoor fun. Capture the beautiful sunset, or sunrise, on the lake or capture you and your friends participating in the variety of different water sports and activities.

Copeland Forest

Located in the rolling hills of Oro-Medonte, this  protected forest of 4,400 acres  has numerous non-motorized multi-use trails  to explore.  Whether by bike or foot, the Copeland’s forest’s flora, fauna and streams offer some wonderful photography opportunities .

Grants Woods

The trails at Grants’ Woods are a network of 4 km looped walking trails. On these trails there are various connecting footbridges which provide unique photo opportunities. In addition, you will be surrounded by various tree types from hard maple, white ash, red oak, white pine, and more. The soil at Grants’ Woods is deep and moist  and allow trees to grow healthy, and tall. The combination between the winding footbridges and mature trees offer the perfect shots for your Instagram feed.

McRae Point Provincial Park

This small peninsula on Lake Simcoe is an ideal location to capture amazing photos of the beautiful region within Orillia & Lake Country. The 1.5 kilometre Water’s Edge hiking trail passes through numerous ecosystems and awards visitors with picture-perfect views and sunsets over Lake Simcoe.
